When we reopen
When we are allowed to reopen, we will only be booking a couple of rooms at a time, in order to manage cleaning regimes and space in the dining room during breakfast. We will also be rotating rooms in order to allow as much space as possible between bookings, up to three days before and after a booking. This might mean that whilst you may have booked a particular room, all rooms are kingsize, but you may be allocated a different room.
When you arrive
When you arrive at Sheriff Lodge, we will already have completed a registration form on your behalf, have a brief note ready for you to read about your stay here at Sheriff Lodge. We will ask you to sign the registration form. Signing the registration form means that you are happy to accept our requests during your stay at Sheriff Lodge, in order to keep yourselves and other guests as safe – and as relaxed – as possible during your stay.
We’ll also give you a map of the town – with the local pubs and restaurants highlighted.
Breakfast is between 7.30am and 9.30am and is cooked to order, once all of your party has come down to the dining room. We ask you to choose a breakfast time when you check in, just to make sure we can look after all our guests properly and manage social distancing in the dining room. Please be aware that this will be your allocated time and in order to adhere to any social distancing issues, please come down at that time. You will also be allocated a table in the dining room for your stay, this should enable minimal cross contamination. If you are in a party of four or more, then we will block out enough time for your order so you can all be served together and so our other guests aren’t caught up waiting for their breakfasts. This helps make sure that everyone can get out for their days adventures and enjoy the Peaks. If you need to be out in the morning by a specific time then please let us know the night before, especially if it is before 730am.
Bringing your dog?
If you’re bringing a canine pal with you, we have trays in each room for water and food bowls, but please do bring your dog’s own beds, as it does seem to it help settle our four-legged guests more quickly. We’ll show you the doggy places to walk and eat etc.
A few requests
Normally we would refresh your room each day, but as we all want to protect our own ‘bubble’, things are a bit different now. In the short-term only, we will be asking our guests to do a couple of things before they leave for their day. Please open your windows to refresh the room whilst you are out and leave any dirty cups and glasses outside your door, along with your bin from your room and your bathroom. When you come back, there will be fresh cups, glasses and emptied bins.
There are hand sanitisers in common areas and in all rooms, please use them as frequently as possible.
Sheriff Lodge will now be offering a homemade two course set menu by prior arrangement. This will be provided at £20 per head reflecting the provenance of as much local produce and high quality produce as possible. I am also licensed so you can enjoy a drink with your meal.
There will be a set Dish of the Day or Veggie Version and Dessert served at 6.30pm, this will be on a pre booked basis only, this of course allows for the freshness of the produce and ensure that your meal has been planned. If you have any particular likes, dislikes or allergies please make them known as choices may be limited. If you would like to book for the evening you arrive please call and ask for the daily menu.
If you wish to have an evening take-way meal during this time, rather than eat in the local pubs/restaurants, then some of the local pubs/restaurants are also offering take-away meals from their menus as well. Please do not eat your takeaways in your room. You are very welcome to eat your take-away in the dining room, just let me know so I can set up a table for you. And I can let you know which pubs/restaurants are offering you this service before you arrive. Again, just give me a call.
Wet and Muddy?
If it’s wet or muddy, you can leave your boots in the hall or porch to dry out, and we always have some newspaper which you can scrunch up inside any wet boots. Any wet clothes can be hung up in the hall. Best not to leave them in your car as unlikely to dry out overnight.
And of course, the garden is there for everyone to enjoy.
But the most important thing to remember during your stay is that you have come here to relax, so kick-back and let the Peaks work their magic.
We’re looking forward to welcoming you to Sheriff Lodge. I can be contacted any time on 07768070611 or 01629 760760.
